Hans Rosling, the well-known Swedish scientist, lecturer, and speaker of public health, passed away today. He was a professor at Karolinska Institutet, co-founder of Gapminder Foundation, and recipient of numerous awards. He was known for promoting the use of statistics to understand issues in the world and developing countries. Important especially in these dark days of nationalism and anti-globalism, he was a man who was dedicated to facts in order to make the world a better place. He died from pancreas cancer.
